May 07, 2019 GPU Upgrades. Yes, the Mac Pro's GPUs can be swapped out, but only three different GPUs were ever produced for it, the AMD FirePro D300 2 GB, D500 3 GB, or D700 6 GB. Apple has kept tight control on these (any official repairs require the GPUs to be returned to Apple), and thus few-to-none exist on the aftermarket, and the two higher GPUs are prone to failures thanks to a wattage ceiling. A 1.1 Mac Pro can be firmware flashed to a 2.1 Mac Pro, and a 4.1 can be flashed to a 5.1 Mac Pro. The best way to verify what the original computer's version was is via using its model number (or serial number). Jul 04, 2019 Question: Q: Mac Pro 6.1 Processor Upgrade. I have a late 2013 Mac Pro, base model 4 core, upgraded Disk to 1TB, memory upgraded to 64GB. I've been offered a 12 core Intel Xeon E5-2697 V2 (SR19H) 2.70GHz 12-Core LGA2011 CPU. From all the specs I've seen it's the right CPU and it looks reasonably simple to upgrade. Mac Pro Late 2013 4 slots DDR3-1866Mhz. The latest model of the Mac Pro takes DDR3-1866Mhz RAM. The machine has four slots that can take up to 32GB. per slot for a maximum upgrade of 128GB of RAM. The DDR3-1866 DIMMs for the Mac Pro require a Thermal Sensor for full performance and compatibility. Many 3rd party Mac Pro DIMMs do not include this sensor.
Chances are, your Mac can run macOS Mojave.
Mac computers with Metal-capable graphics processors (GPUs) can be upgraded to macOS Mojave.
Make sure you’re ready to upgrade.
Before you upgrade, we recommend that you back up your Mac. Then, if your Mac is running OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 or later, you can upgrade directly to macOS Mojave.
Upgrading is free. And easier than you think.
Visit the macOS Mojave page on the App Store. Click the download button and follow the onscreen instructions to begin your upgrade. If you don’t have broadband access, you can upgrade your Mac at any Apple Store.

Any upgrade is going to help, I can't tell you if it would help more than a video card upgrade would. It is of course not possible to upgrade the internal video cards in your Mac Pro.
Then click the Add Ins button. After your initial installation, open Excel and go to Tools-Add Ins. Free code 128 font for excel. Find the Excel barcode add in function and select the check box, then hit OK. Excel 2007 users, once installed, open Excel and go to the drop down menu and select More Commands. Once that pane is loaded, go to the bottom of the dialog where you will see 'Excel Add Ins' in a combo box.
I can say that it is possible to upgrade to a 12 core pair of CPUs in your model.
Other things that would help would be more RAM and upgrading the SSD drive inside your Mac Pro. It is now possible to get a much faster NVMe SSD and an adapter to fit it in your Mac Pro. The original SSD was an AHCI one. (Don't get the Samsung 970 Evo Pro, a WD Black SN750 might be a better choice.)
You could look for a pair of second hand CPU chips and fit them yourself to save money. You need some technical skills to do this and obviously to be very careful. I did upgrade my MacPro5,1 to a pair of 6 core CPUs - therefore totalling 12 cores. I got my chips secondhand via eBay but I did see them working in the donor computer before handing over the cash.
